MERLYNSTON HADFIELD CRICKET CLUB
CODE OF CONDUCT
SEPTEMBER 2001

The Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club is committed to fairness, equity and good sportsmanship in cricket. The Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club aims to provide the best possible environment in which its players can excel and its officials can discharge their responsibilities to ensure the players are able to be and perform at their best.

This code of conduct is designed to ensure that appropriate forms of behaviour are adopted and be and remain the norm for all persons associated with the Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club.

All persons who from time to time are representing the Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club shall act in accordance with the conduct outlined hereunder

a) be subject to the control, management and direction of the team captain or any other person appointed by
    him/her
b) observe and comply with all directions and orders given by the captain or any other person appointed by
    him/her
c) conduct themselves in a proper manner so as not to bring themselves, the club or the team generally into
    public disrespect and to the absolute satisfaction of the committee of management
d) not to make, comment, issue, offer or endorse any public criticism designed to have an effect prejudicial to
    the best interests of the Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club
e) treat all persons with respect, dignity and proper regard for their rights and obligations
f) perform all duties and responsibilities as a representative of the Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club in a
    mature, fair and professional manner
g) not disclose to any unauthorised person or organisation information which is of a confidential or privileged
    nature
h) not misuse the property of the Merlynston Hadfield Cricket Club
i) not promote, pass on, exchange or publish information whereby that information may be of a confidential,
   offensive, scandalous, unsubstantiated or derisive type
j) not defame or injure any person
k) to act at all times in a sportsmanlike manner and in such a way as to ensure good relations within and
   between teams. Excessive sledging is not to be condoned
